Why this role?
This role suits an experienced hospital leader from a clinical or operational route who is ready to step into full site accountability and operate as the senior decision-maker on site.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for the operational, clinical, and financial performance of a modern independent hospital. You will ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compliant services while balancing quality, efficiency, and financial performance.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team and work closely with consultants, internal teams, and external stakeholders. The role requires someone comfortable taking ownership across all aspects of hospital performance, making decisions, and driving standards across both clinical and non-clinical functions.

It offers the opportunity to lead a stable, established site with clear expectations around performance, governance, and continuous improvement.

About the employer:
This role sits within a well-established, values-led healthcare provider operating a network of services across the UK.

The hospital is a modern, purpose-built facility with an established local reputation for delivering a range of clinical services. It operates within clear governance frameworks and has a strong focus on maintaining standards, improving operational performance, and developing services where appropriate.

The environment is structured and performance-focused, with an emphasis on accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing:
•    Provide overall leadership, management, and strategic direction for all hospital operations.
•    Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compliant clinical care.
•    Drive operational performance, including patient flow, efficiency, and activity levels.
•    Lead financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
•    Develop and maintain relationships with consultants, commissioners, and key stakeholders.
•    Act as senior on-site leader and Registered Manager, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
•    Lead multidisciplinary teams and set clear expectations around performance and standards.
•    Oversee governance, risk management, audit, and patient safety processes.
•    Support service development and operational improvement initiatives.
•    Contribute to wider organisational and local market development.

What we’re looking for:
•    Significant senior leadership experience within a hospital or healthcare setting, ideally from a clinical or operational background.
•    Proven track record of delivering operational, clinical, and financial performance.
•    Strong understanding of healthcare regulation and governance frameworks (CQC/HIW or equivalent).
•    Experience leading service improvement, transformation, or change programmes.
•    Ability to lead and hold multidisciplinary teams to account.
•    Strong commercial awareness and understanding of healthcare delivery models.
•    Experience working with consultants, regulators, and commissioners.
•    Understanding of NHS and independent healthcare environments.
•    Master’s degree or equivalent (desirable).

What’s in it for you:
•    £100,000 Basic Salary + Pension + 27 Days Holiday Plus Bank Holidays + Private Medical + Life Assurance + Discounts + Additional Benefits.
•    Opportunity to take full operational responsibility for an established hospital.
•    Clear accountability with scope to influence performance and service delivery.
•    Structured, performance-led environment with defined expectations.
•    Opportunities for ongoing development within a wider healthcare group.
