This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished recruiter ready to step into a senior leadership role within a specialist healthcare recruitment business. As Business Manager, you’ll combine hands-on billing with responsibility for building, leading, developing, and supporting a highly effective recruitment team.
Based between home and our York office, this role offers significant autonomy, genuine influence, and the chance to shape strategy, growth, and culture within a respected and values-led recruitment business. You will work closely with the Managing Director, contributing directly to commercial decision-making, strategic planning, and the continued development of the business. This role also offers a rare opportunity to progress into a Director-level position, taking ownership of a specialist division and replicating the success achieved through the development of established brands such as Fertility Talent. Relocation support is available for the right individual.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Building, leading, developing, and supporting a highly effective recruitment team.
• Taking ownership of market mapping and strategic planning to identify new revenue streams, client opportunities, and areas for growth.
• Driving business development and client account management at a senior level, nurturing long-term, high-value partnerships.
• Joining commercial dots across markets, clients, and candidate trends to proactively identify and capitalise on new opportunities.
• Maintaining a hands-on recruitment presence, delivering high-quality, consultative recruitment solutions.
• Playing a key role in shaping recruitment strategy, processes, and best practice across the business.
What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience in healthcare recruitment is highly desirable. Applications will also be considered from senior recruitment leaders within highly regulated sectors, such as scientific or MedTech.
• Demonstrable leadership experience, with a track record of managing, coaching, or mentoring recruiters.
• Strong background in market mapping, business development, and senior-level client account management.
• Commercially astute, with the ability to think strategically and identify new opportunities.
• Confident joining commercial dots and translating insight into action.
• Professional, transparent, and people-focused leadership style.
• Drive, resilience, emotional intelligence, and a sense of humour are highly valued.
Location Requirement
While hybrid working is supported, this is a visible leadership role that requires regular time in the office to support and develop the team.
