Stroud Resourcing Half Year Celebration – Kicking Off 2022 in Style

January marks the end of the second quarter at Stroud Resourcing and as is customary here, we headed out for a day packed with excitement and education to mark the occasion.

It was an early, and chilly, start as we headed down to a local gym for a fantastic team-building exercise in the form of self-defence classes from local personal trainer Dustin of DNA MMA. After a quick warmup, Dustin had us practising everything from jabs and hooks to Jiu-Jitsu grapples and holds throughout the morning.

As a majority-female company, this class was more than just a fun warm up to the day for us. After alarming reports of attacks on young women around the country, and rising incidents of spiking, Stroud Resourcing MD Joanna felt it was important that our workplace wellness programme covered more than just healthy snacking. The class focussed on avoiding confrontation, followed by practical advice on how to escape from a variety of dangerous situations. The whole team loved the empowering experience, even if we were all a little sore the next day.

After heading back to the office for lunch, we jumped into our half-year business update, where we had some big successes to celebrate. The second half of 2021 marked a record-breaking six months for Stroud Resourcing, as well as seeing the launch of our new internship programme, a redesign of our website, and the company being shortlisted for two Recruiter Investing In Talent Awards – so we had an afternoon packed full of great news to share. Joanna rounded off the meeting by revealing plans for the future of Stroud Resourcing, including an exciting announcement we can’t wait to share with you, so watch this space!

Finally, we headed out for dinner at The Botanist, Stonegate – famous for their hanging shish-kebabs and whimsical cocktails. After a long and active day, it was the perfect way to finish off, with everyone leaving very full, and a little tipsy – we definitely recommend the strawberry Mojito!
