Sharing the Sunshine: Our Summer Charity Initiative

As part of our ongoing quarterly charity programme, we're proud to introduce our summer initiative, "Share the Sunshine". Following the successful launch of our Spring "Fresh Start" Drive, this next phase continues our commitment to giving back in a way that's practical, inclusive and community led.

A Seasonal Approach to Giving Back

Our charity initative is structured around the four seasons allowing us to support different causes throughout the year and respond to changing needs within the York community.

By spreading our efforts across quarterly initiatives, we're able to maintain consistent support while ensuring charitable giving remains sustainable for a small, independent business like ours.

Introducing "Share the Sunshine"

Summer is a time often associated with warmth, positivity, and togetherness but for many families, it can also bring added pressure.

Our "Share the Sunshine" initiative focuses on spreading warmth and positivity by supporting children from low-income families, helping them to enjoy the season and feel included during the summer months.

What to donate:

To ensure donations are safe and appropriate for those receiving them, we kindly ask that contributions do not include cleaning products, medications (such as paracetamol or ibuprofen) or razors, and donate new/unopened items only. The deadline for donations is the 1st of June.

Why Physical Donations Matter

As a small business, we understand that regular monetary donations aren't always feasible, for us or for our wider network. That's why our charity initiative focuses on physical contributions, allowing more people to get involved without financial pressure.

This approach encourages:

Together, these small acts add up to meaningful community impact.

Encouraging Other SME's to Get Involved

We believe charitable giving shouldn't be limited by business size. With thoughtful planning and community-first mindset, SMEs can make a real difference without stretching beyond their means.

We hope initatives like Share the Sunshine inspire other small businesses to explore accessible, sustainable ways to support their local communities.

Looking Ahead

As we continue our quarterly charity programme, we look forward to sharing updates on the impact of Share the Sunshine and the initatives still to come later in the year. Thank you to everyone who contributes. Together, we're helping spread a little more sunshine where it's needed most.
