This month’s end-of-month gathering embraced the spirit of Easter and brought a fresh sense of energy to the team. After our usual presentation, where we reflected on company performance, celebrated key wins, and recognised individual contributions, the day took a more adventurous turn. With the formalities wrapped up, we headed out into York city centre for an Easter trail organised by Alisha—an activity that quickly sparked excitement (and a little friendly rivalry).
We split into two teams, Team Stroud Resourcing and Team Fertility Talent, with Easter eggs up for grabs and bragging rights firmly on the line. It didn’t take long for the competitive spirit to kick in. Armed with our first envelopes, each containing a carefully thought-out clue, we set off on a trail that would take us through some of York’s most iconic landmarks. Each clue required a mix of problem-solving, local knowledge, and teamwork, guiding us from one destination to the next.
The route took us through the historic streets of York, with stops including the Minster, the Shambles, and even the Castle Museum. Each location added its own charm to the experience, blending the city’s rich history with the fun and challenge of the trail. There were moments of confusion, bursts of laughter, and a fair bit of strategising as each team worked to stay one step ahead.
The trail concluded at the lovely pub, Angel On The Green, where both teams finally regrouped. It was the perfect setting to unwind after the challenge—sharing stories, comparing routes, and, of course, announcing the winning team, who walked away with their well-earned prizes. More importantly, it gave everyone a chance to relax together outside of the usual work environment.
Moments like these play a vital role in building a strong and connected business. While performance reviews and targets are essential, it’s the shared experiences, like solving challenges together, celebrating wins, and simply enjoying each other’s company—that strengthen relationships across the team. Activities like this encourage collaboration, boost morale, and create a positive culture where people feel engaged and valued. In the long run, those connections translate into better communication, stronger teamwork, and a more resilient, motivated workforce.
