Creating a workplace where people feel supported, comfortable and genuienly happy is a huge part of our employee value proposition. One small but meaningful way we do this is by being a dog-friendly office.
We know that for many, dogs are part of the family. Allowing team members to bring their dogs into the office removes a layer of stress from the working day. There's no worrying about long hours at home, arranging care, or rushing back at lunchtime. Instead, people can focus on their work knowing their dog is nearby, settled and happy. Beyond the practical benefits, having dogs in the office brings something extra to our day-to-day culture. A quick break for a walk, a friendly face under the desk or a dog wandering over for a bit of attention will help create a calmer, more relaxed environment. It also encourages natural pauses in the day, supports wellbeing and adds a sense of balance to busy schedules.
It's also become part of what makes our office feel like a community. One of our dogs, Hugo, has quite literally grown up alongside the team, from puppy to adulthood! Hugo has been there through projects, milestones, and everyday moments. That shared experience has created a real sense of connection and familarity, helping new starts feel welcome and long-standing team members feel at home.
A dog-friendly workplace also encourages conversation and collaboration. Dogs have a way of breaking down barriers, sparking chats between teams and bring people together who might not otherwise cross paths. It's a simple thing, but it plays a big role in shaping an open, friendly and inclusive culture.
For us, being dog-friendly isn't just a perk; it's a reflection of how we think about work. We trust our people, value flexibility and believe that creating a supportive environment leads to happier teams and better work. And if that environment happens to include a few wagging tails, even better!
