Last night, Joanna, Jess and John headed down to London to represent Stroud Resourcing at the Recruiter Investing In Talent Awards.
Our first time attending the prestigious event, we were finalists in the Most Effective Pay & Benefits Strategy and Best Recruitment Company to Work For categories. Recruiter Magazine put on a phenomenal evening for their guests at The Brewery in north London, and it was great to return to in-person events after two years of social distancing.
The night kicked off with a reception and address from Recruiter Editor DeeDee Doke, who spoke of the many challenges the recruiting and staffing sector has faced since 2020. From covid to the “great reshuffle” it’s certainly been a challenging time for many of us, but last night’s awards showcasing the innovation and dedication of the industry were an inspirational glimpse at the resilience of recruiters.
Next up was a delicious 3-course dinner produced by The Brewery’s award-winning chefs and an opportunity to meet a few of our fellow finalists.
After dinner, we were treated to some close-up magic tricks from Ben Hanlin, who left the crowd scratching our heads more than once, including a great opening stunt that involved turning lager into milk!
On to the Awards proper, as Ben and a few hand-selected industry experts announced the winners across this year’s 15 award categories, with winners and runners-up alike coming from across the country and almost every industry specialisation represented.
After the ceremony, the party went on until late with a resident DJ, lots of questionable dancing and plenty of fizz flowing, as attendees got down the serious business of some much-needed fun.
Despite the ongoing difficulties for recruiters, it really is inspirational to see the resilience and determination on display across the industry. Our biggest congratulations to everyone who took home an award – we can’t wait to see you all again next year.
