Zoe joined with us at the beginning of April, and has since been immersed in the academy. Let's see how she's getting on with the training so far and how she feels she has fitted in with our team!
What initially attracted you to Stroud?
I was initially attracted to Stroud because they offered a comprehensive graduate scheme, so it was the perfect opportunity to learn on the job as I wanted a career change. I also wanted to work somewhere where there was clear progression so I could visualise where I would be in 2+ years’ time. Also, they offered a variety of perks and benefits such as bonus and commission, values and recognition programme, a monthly team activity with fizzy Fridays, quarterly away days and food often!
What are your thoughts on our company culture?
Having only been working for Stroud for 2 weeks I already feel part of the team. Everyone at Stroud is extremely welcoming and keen to include everyone in everything. Jo, Guy and Andrew offer excellent guidance and support through the academy whilst Jess, Hannah, Charlotte and Tess are extremely friendly and reassuring. Regular visits from Dusty and Hugo complete the team! Overall, I feel the company culture is supportive, empathetic and a lovely place to come to work every day.
What have you learnt so far in the academy?
Lots! I have learnt about a variety of aspects of the business including the history of Stroud, its successes, its goals as well as getting to grips with writing job adverts, sourcing candidates and talking through interview scripts. As well as this, I have learnt quite a lot of terminology!
Everyday I am learning something new and although it can be quite intense at times, I feel I am getting more confident in the theory of my new role and can’t wait to get on the phone!
What are you most excited for in your role?
I am looking forward to putting all I have learnt in the academy into practice and I am excited about talking to candidates and becoming confident with that at this stage. Looking towards the future, I am excited about earning commission and being rewarded for my hard work, as well as the exciting quarterly away days and monthly activities we have coming up.
What would you say to graduates thinking of applying?
If you are thinking of applying for the graduate recruitment role at Stroud you have come across a great company to work for! Stroud want people with the right attitude and willingness to learn. The Graduate academy is extremely informative as you will learn everything you need to know about recruitment and as you gradually progress through the academy, everyone here is willing to support you every step of the way.
