Stroudathon – We’re walking 300,000 steps to raise money for Mind

As we recently announced, we’ll be raising money for mental health charity Mind over the next 12 months, and we’re kicking things off with our Stroudathon – where we each try to walk 10,000 steps every day for 30 days!

From today until the 13th of October, every member of the Stroud resourcing team will be trying to average 10,000 steps a day, for a total of 300,000 over the month. We’re doing this to raise money for Mind, who provide mental health support and education across the UK.

Research has shown that physical activity can aid in improve our mental health, as endorphins are released during exercise which can improve our moods and gives us more energy. Studies have also shown that keeping active can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety by giving our brains something to focus on and improve our sleep patterns, so even simple exercise can be a great way to improve our overall mood and wellbeing.

You can support us as we step up to this challenge, as every pound raised helps Mind continue their fantastic work supporting people experiencing mental health problems and campaigning for the better provision of services. Donate to our JustGiving page here, or read more about Mind’s work.
