Stroud Resourcing 2021 Retrospective

Happy New Year from Stroud Resourcing! Another turbulent year, 2021 held a lot of ups and downs for us here at Stroud Resourcing, but as we head into 2022, we wanted to take some time to reflect on a few of our biggest achievements and happiest moments from the year.

Real Living Wage, Good Business Charter & Carbon Neutral Accreditation

2021 was the year we formalised our commitments to good pay, great workplace culture and sustainable business practices. Back in April, we gained accreditation with the Real Living Wage Foundation for our commitment to pay all team members, freelancers, and contractors a Real Living Wage (currently set at £9.90 per hour).

Building on this, in July we joined the Good Business Charter, signing up to their ten pledges to ensure our business remains ethical and effective across areas like employee representation, ethical sourcing, prompt supplier payment and environmental responsibility.

Introducing Our Pledge

To further codify these commitments, we added a fourth pillar to our longstanding company philosophy around People, Process & Practice. Our Pledge commits us to supporting, engaging and caring for our community, now and into the future. We recognise that, like everyone else, we have a duty to help ensure our planet is preserved for future generations, and our Pledge ensures that we won’t lose sight of that as we continue to grow. Stroud Resourcing aims to lead from the front with ethical, sustainable business practices underpinning everything we do in 2022 and beyond.

Strengthening our benefits package

Throughout 2021, we revamped our employee benefits package, improving on what was already offered, and adding a host of new benefits to the mix. One pioneering policy we’re particularly proud of is the ability to support our team through fertility treatment, family planning and bereavement. We think it’s important that every member of our team feels secure and supported in their role, and our benefits package is just one part of that, but one we’re glad to be getting right.

Celebrating our 13th year of trading

July marked Stroud Resourcing’s 13th birthday, but far from a Kevin-Patterson-esque transformation into a teenage nightmare, we celebrated with a team weekend away in scenic Cartmel, Cumbria. With mountain hikes, delicious cuisine and a Segway tour of the stunning countryside, it was the perfect way to thank our team for another great year.

Launching Fertility Talent

All the way back in April, we launched our sister brand, Fertility Talent, to specialise in recruiting for the UK’s fast-growing fertility services sector. With more than a decade of expertise in recruiting for this sector, founding director Guy Stroud also shared his own journey with fertility services, explaining the amazing impact the sector has had on his life.

We were shortlisted for two national awards

Rounding off our year with some phenomenal news, in December, it was announced that we’d been shortlisted for two awards at the prestigious Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards 2021. Our overhauled benefits package earned us a place as finalists for Most Effective Pay & Benefits Package, and we were also shortlisted for Best Micro Recruitment Company to Work For (<20 employees). We certainly think this is a great place to work, and we can’t wait for the results to be announced on February 1st.
