Here at Stroud Resourcing, at the end of every month we finish early on a Friday (even earlier than our usual 4pm Friday finish!) and we look back on the monthly performance. This includes celebrating the success of our consultants and revealing the winners of our monthly prizes.

We also celebrate the end of the month with an activity, taking it in turns to plan and host said activity, August was Joanna’s turn to host and wow did she deliver!

In conjunction with the exciting news that our very own Training & Development Manager - Ser David of house Gawthorpe, Lord of Barnsley (or David Gawthorpe for those who don’t watch Game of Thrones) is getting married in September, Joanna planned a surprise ‘Stag Shower Party’ for David.

This included decorating the board room with fairy lights, confetti, cupcakes, candles and some fantastic snaps of David and his bride to be. After a blindfolded David had been led to his chair and the surprise had been revealed, we split into 2 teams and played a round of ‘Wedding Charades’.

Due to the competitive nature of recruitment and recruiters alike, we all wanted to win and there was a very high-level of charading on display. Luckily for the office harmony the end result was a diplomatic draw, although after witnessing Guy’s depiction of ‘Bride Wars’ and Jordan’s interpretation of ‘The Wedding Singer’ we all felt like winners.

The finale was a game of Mr & Mrs, putting David on the spot as he tried to guess answers his other half had given to some testing questions such as; What is David’s most annoying habit? (It’s safe to say we also came up with plenty of answers too…)

Following this we tucked in to some Domino’s pizza and had a few drinks to celebrate both the end of the month and the end of David’s time as a bachelor. Joanna has definitely set the bar high for the rest of the year and I know I speak for everyone at Stroud when I wish David and Laura the very best for their future together.
